Trump phone is either one of the most blatant examples of vaporware in tech history or outright fraud.

Ok so let me get the order of events straight.
- Terrorist dressed up in police gear breaks in to a senator's house, shoots him and his wife
- Flees the scene
- Goes to a separate elected representative's house
- Cops arrive on the scene before he can break in
- Surround the house
- He starts shooting at cops
- Cops fire back
- Somehow all miss him
- They somehow let him barge into the house
- He murders a sitting congresswoman and her husband
- And THEN the cops allow him to escape again??
- Are we fucking kidding??
This is either complete ineptitude or the police were actual accomplices in the murder and attempted murder of two different Democratic Congresspeople.
Meta's promise "that it’s adding ads to WhatsApp with privacy in mind does not make me trust this new feature,” EFF’s Lena Cohen told @FastCompany. “Ads that are targeted based on your personal data are a privacy nightmare, no matter what app they’re on.” https://www.fastcompany.com/91353012/meta-is-bringing-ads-to-whatsapp-privacy-experts-are-sounding-the-alarm
Just had to back out of a women's event at KPBS tomorrow because it required registering my car with Offstreet (for parking), whose ToS require that you agree to Google’s TOS (its systems use Google products). I’ll be damned if I’m going to register my car with Google.
Seriously, KPBS people…you are sleeping with the enemy here.
(and don’t get me started at how I first read “Offstreet” as related to “Offred”)
After 23 years of service, I was fired from my position as a Professor of Medicine at the University of California, San Francisco, for being critical of Israel’s violence in Gaza and speaking out against the racism that leads to genocide.
@monnier @paulasimoes @molly0xfff @pluralistic @ansol The 'illegality' is a constructed illegality -because those in power wre able to declared it 'illiegal'. There is no inherent illegality in taking something apart that you properly bought. But, greed and lust for power never sleeps.
I criticize US policing a fair bit, but I will say, the Minnesota police official who connected the dots after the first shooting and sent officers to proactively check on other elected officials in the area likely saved quite a few lives. They sadly arrived too late to stop the murders of the Hortmans, but arrived in time to ID the fleeing suspect and stop him from moving on to the next targets on his list.
I always find this chart by Hannah Ritchie -- of Our World In Data -- deeply informative of how disjointed is our sense of personal risk
@manchicken @Gladso @jhavok @pluralistic There is no longer a "Democratic" party. The organization you refer to is composed of "Rockefeller Republicans" who were forced out of the GOP.
@Gladso @jhavok @pluralistic strong agree.
- There are no Democrats publicly agitating about how the NLRB lacks quorum because the Trump administration illegally dismissed two board members
- There are no Democrats staging sit-ins to draw attention ICE from selling immigrants to El Salvadoran slave camps
- Hell, there aren’t even any elected Democrats making noise about the fact that the Trump administration is selling humans to El Salvadoran slave camps in the first place!
Democrats appear more concerned with their fundraising than they are with human rights or labor rights violations.
@realTuckFrumper What is the opposite of "The Rule of Law". Why "Law and Order" of course!
The sources for this WSJ article about “Democrats” are: Third Way, a guy who was a Deputy Mayor 25 years ago, and a Republican consultant
@realTuckFrumper and yesterday and the day before ...
@Free_Press Haven't the Israelis started attacking hospitals and schools yer? What are they waiting for?
@SteveBellovin Also working as intended😫
Much discussion about “opsec” (a term I don’t love when talking about people exercising their rights, but whatever) at protests today, including about phones and Faraday containers.
A Faraday container is probably less useful here than you think it is, but if you do rely on one, make sure it actually works. Here’s a post I did a while back on the ins and outs of containing RF: https://www.mattblaze.org/blog/faraday/
Today millions of us will peacefully protest this country's slide into fascism at many hundreds of No Kings events.
There's no mention of this gigantic event anywhere on the current NY Times home page, even in stories under the "US Protests" link highlighted here in red.
