@LilahTovMoon The only power that man has, as long as he is a private citizen, is the willingness of others to break the law on his behalf. That's it. Break that chain and he is no longer a threat.
What I really want from technology these days is passivity. Physical buttons, and PASSIVITY.
No guessing, no anticipating, no predicting.
No autofill, no autocorrect, no autodrive and PLEASE God no autoplay.
Just be inert until acted upon!

Once again, for the people in the back: we don't build back doors because there is no way to build a back door that only good guys can walk through, motherfuckers.
Netanyahu and Putin want Trump to win, and Israel's head honcho is working overtime to make it happen.

Relearning modern HTML, and amazed to find that <a> tags have a "ping" attribute that fire off an async POST to whereever you like when someone follows the link. Explicitly designed for tracking user activity, in browsers since 2011.
According to MDN, Firefox is the only browser that doesn't send them. Not for any noble reason, there's just an 11 year old open bug to finish shipping it and it's not done yet.
(edit: boosting this? Want to learn modern HTML? See rec in https://hachyderm.io/@danderson/113261912941835525)

🤦🏻♀️NEW: For the first time in 20 years, Purdue University will not have an on-campus polling place on Election Day this year. Voting rights advocates say the decision by the local board of elections is a blatant attempt to suppress the student vote in #Indiana. https://www.democracydocket.com/news-alerts/for-first-time-in-20-years-purdue-wont-have-election-day-polling-place-on-campus/

Jack Smith's bombshell immunity brief
In a sane world it would be Watergate-level news.
In a Trump-cancerous US, it's just a typical Friday.
Ponder for a moment the damage Trump has done to our democracy with this being the case!

Chrome wasn't objectively better than Firefox. Leaner, more stable yes, but Firefox beat Chrome on features and customizability.
Unfortunately, Mozilla decided to discard their advantages and compete on advertising budget, starting from Firefox 4.
For me, Firefox 57 was the one that removed the last must-have features from Firefox.
