Big Journalism treats the serial scandals as one-offs.

And, even now, journalists -- including the otherwise brilliant @ProPublica -- can't be bothered to pull it all together to show the breadth and depth of the sleaze.

They notice some of the fires breaking out. But they never explain that the entire forest is ablaze.

@lou @dangillmor @ProPublica LoL I made this in 2015 when the Media was giving tRump a pass, lambasting Hill and giving air time to every progressive who would go on air and subtly or not so subtly attack Dems as “corporate shills” in order to divide the vote.

@lou @dangillmor @ProPublica While it could certainly be argued that big time journalism has always had an entertainment component, the consuming of journalism by entertainment behemoths over time has clearly taken an enormous toll. "The Fourth Estate" philosophy has long been in the rearview mirror.
