I just want to point out that while I'm not a trained law enforcement officer, I've managed to successfully use a flashlight numerous times without shooting at anything. Mostly this is because I use special flashlights that don't have guns attached.
@mattblaze So, you have been willing to pay the premium to get flashlights without the attached guns? Next will you say you have a TV set that does not connect to the internet?

@lou @oclsc @mattblaze I take mine in the airline cabin with me. Not once has security attempted to take it from me at flashlight point as I go through the checkpoint. Perhaps that is because mine comes without the magazines and trigger and barrel options?
@lou @mattblaze Border officers are too bright to be worried by that.
@oclsc @lou @mattblaze plus, you can easily enlighten them about the specific laws governing the transports of flashlights across state lines.

@lou It's worth paying extra for safety. Plus I can bring my flashlight to the airport.
