Firefox for Android, meaning "Ublock on Mobile", and Thunderbird for Android, meaning "A mobile mail client that isn't absolutely atrocious, Gmail I'm looking directly at you", has me once again trying to buy a competent Android tablet.

My most recent attempt - a Samsung Activ5, on paper a competent heir to the long-missed Nexus 7 - has failed because Samsung doesn't sell them to people.

I would like to buy a well-made, smallish tablet, current Android, getting updates. Does this exist?

@mhoye It probably doesn't exist because you are not allowed to own and control anything. They only function for the whim and greed of the creators and suppliers. I think that is why there do not seem to be any Linux tablets.
