It shouldn't be harder for someone who's served time and expressed remorse for a single crime to get a fast food job than it is for a remorseless criminal convicted of 34 felonies to ascend to the highest office in the land.

Some of the consequences convicted felon Donald Trump now faces are rather amusing.

Certain British newspapers which had referred to him as "Mr. Trump" will be reverting to plain "Trump", as is their practice for convicted criminals.

Oh, the indignity!

Dear Senate Judiciary Committee:

Stop sending letters to the Supreme Court — and start sending subpoenas.

34 felony convictions
54 pending criminal charges
2 impeachments
2 popular vote losses
$88M owed to E Jean Carroll
$450M owed for civil fraud
$8T added to nat'l debt
2.9M net loss of jobs

Is this what Trump meant when he promised "numbers like we've never seen"?

TRUMP: If they can do this to me, they can do this to anyone.

Yes. If you commit 34 felonies by filing false business records to cover up election interference, you too can be convicted by a jury of your peers via the due process of our criminal justice system.

Working from home today. I let my kids bike down to the park where Wednesday's fatal shooting took place. We actually walked there last night for the weekly Farmer's Market, but it feels different when I'm not with them. I actually worry more about a driver hitting them, but that's not a reassuring thought. I dearly wish our cities were safer for kids to move around.

We've come to the point where giving kids a basic level of freedom and autonomy is a radical act.

So will the Republican party, the party of LAW & ORDER (TM) nominate a convicted felon as their candidate for the Presidency of the United States? Convicted on ALL 34 counts by a jury.

12 jurors had more bravery and smarts than half our Supreme Court, most of our Senate, most of the Mainstream Media, many of our other judges, and many of our prosecutors.

Our leaders are mostly failing us.

But democracy will save us.
